JUNIORS

Broxbourne CC Juniors is an established and thriving junior cricket section committed to providing the best opportunities for our young cricketers. We have over 100 members between the ages of 6 and 15 enjoying all levels of cricket and looking to improve their cricketing skills through our regular summer and winter training sessions. We currently run 10 teams across varying age groups (from Under 9s to Under 15s) which compete each summer in the Hertfordshire Junior Leagues.

Coaching sessions are led by our ECB Level 3 coach Gagan Dissanayake who is supported by other ECB qualified coaches as well as many other volunteers who help facilitate the development of our young cricketers’ physical, technical and tactical skills in a fun and safe, yet competitive, environment.

We are a Clubmark accredited club recognised by both the ECB & Sport England and take the welfare of our junior members very seriously.

As an inclusive club, whether our juniors are just playing with friends for fun, want to focus on improving their physical and social skills or are aspiring to progress through the County cricket pathways, we accommodate all abilities for both boys and girls.

Our juniors are encouraged to progress into our senior teams where many of our former juniors currently play.

What age groups do you provide training and teams for?

We provide training for age groups Under 7s and over, looking to initially introduce the basic skills of batting, bowling, and fielding, then developing skills to progress to playing with a hard ball and eventually moving into senior sides. Competitive league cricket starts from Under 9s and we run teams at each age group up to U15s.

When and where do you practice?

Summer coaching sessions start from mid-April with U15s (school years 7-10) training on Friday evenings and U11s (school years 2-6) training on Sunday mornings. Winter training, to help prepare players for the new season, takes place at HECC Sawbridgeworth and on the clubs all weather pitch and outdoor nets. 
All sessions take place at Broxbourne Sports Club, Mill Lane Close, Broxbourne, EN10 7BA.
